Rain,rain come again

It's been a few months since our last good rain now - just before the start of the July hols. There are already a large number of fires burning all around us (it is still winter isn't it?) We had the reddest/orangest sunset yesterday arvo, so Terry is under strict instructions to be home this afternoon in time for a beer and to watch the sunset off the back verandah ! We have only a few weeks of water left in the tank and (if next weeks expected showers don't arrive) will have to buy water for the 3rd time since moving in here.

Em and Cheyenne are comming home for a visit on the 18th for a few weeks and it seems they will try and make a go of it all together in Bendigo. Chris has a had a few days work and houses are lot cheaper to rent there. As much as we'll miss them it has to better life there than what was going on here in their small, dingy flat.

Ewen is still hanging in there at school (HSC trials begin a few weeks) but has missed a lot of days lately. I had his year advisor on the phone to me laying down the law last week........but Ewen is 18 and surely capable of making his own decisions (be they right or wrong) now. I didn't mention, on the phone, that the reason Ewen wasn't at school at the end of last week was he was getting drunk in Byron Bay before spending the weekend at Splendour in the Grass. By all accounts, or what they can remember any how,the music was excellent and the weather perfect.
